About Us

Mission Statement

The mission of The Jewish Academy is to offer quality Jewish education at an affordable price to our community. We educate and inspire our students through our cutting edge dual English/Hebrew curriculum, dynamic teachers, and commitment to innovation through technology.  It is our stated purpose to develop within our students a passionate love for Torah and Judaism, strong Jewish Values, and an unbreakable connection with Israel and Zionism.

Our Story

In 2010 a group of Israeli entrepreneurs visited South Florida and realized there was a large sector of the Jewish Community who was not receiving an opportunity to have a Jewish education. Knowing how important Jewish education was in their mission to stop assimilation, they along with Rabbis Avshalom Baskin and Yehuda Kornfeld initiated an organization called Masoret Yehudit (which means Jewish tradition). It started with a few students and passionate parents who believed in this mission. Today it has blossomed into a fully subscribed ECE, Elementary and Middle school (currently offering 6th grade and adding one grade each year B”H).

The Jewish Academy is an Orthodox school that takes pride in teaching Jewish tradition with love and care. We accommodate families with different levels of observance and backgrounds so all will feel welcome.  It is our belief that Jewish education is a birthright and not a privilege. The Jewish Academy prides itself on achieving academic excellence in both English and Judaic studies. We have a strong commitment to innovation through technology as this is an imperative to compete in today’s global economy.  Our students love receiving their cutting edge education within the warmth and love of the The Jewish Academy family!

Head of School Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Jewish Academy. What makes us special? America ranks 17th in Science and 25th in Mathematics, yet we spend more money on education then the rest of the world. What is going wrong? I have one observation to offer. Today the American public education is based upon principals of repetition and memorization. When I was a public school principal we were indoctrinated to teach to the test. I believe that a child does his or her best learning when thinking, creating, innovating, and participating in real projects. We will make the classroom become alive and inspire our students to enjoy every moment of engaging learning.

My staff and I will take a personal interest into the growth and development of your child. Our school is build upon strong Jewish Values and a warm family atmosphere. It is our utmost priority to ensure that your child is safe and thriving in his or her learning environment. In my past experiences as Judaic Principal of Scheck Hillel, Principal of Ben Gamla Charter School, Rabbi of Young Israel in Aventura, and being a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist, I have learned to build one quality relationship at a time.

Core Jewish Values

The Jewish Academy education subscribes to the essential importance of Jewish Values. While many feel that the boundaries of a day school education are limited to knowledge and skills, we feel that it is our duty to become your partners in teaching children kindness, truth, peace, and respect. These four Jewish values are taught, practiced, and espoused in every class at The Jewish Academy. Our Judaic and General Education staff includes these values into our curriculum and even our coach ensures that every game is played in line with our Jewish Values.
